We at 1st Way are committed to keeping the office open as many hours as possible from Monday through Saturday. We find that the more hours we are open, the more women we serve. The need for our services seems unlimited.
Depending on the life circumstances of a particular woman, our volunteers will provide the appropriate education and support, information, referrals, and counseling. For example, an unmarried person may be encouraged to consider abstinence and given important information about chastity. Married persons who are unprepared for a pregnancy at this time may be told about Natural Family Planning. Questions about the dangers of various artificial birth control methods and sexually-transmitted diseases are always answered with the facts. Whenever possible, we offer personal follow up on positive lifestyle changes or provide referrals to helpful programs and support groups.

We help pregnant women learn about pre-natal care, find jobs and make plans for their futures. We gently help them objectively and realistically explore their options. When a woman is abortion-minded, we explore her reasons for wanting an abortion. These reasons sometimes disappear in the face of the facts regarding fetal development, health issues, medical and financial assistance, housing alternatives, adoption assistance, and other available services.

During pregnancy and afterward, we continue to educate and assist these women in whatever way is needed to support their decision to choose a better way of life.
